Efficient inventory management without time-consuming ordering processes: REIFF implements new scanner solution

Cost reduction and process optimisation are becoming more and more important. As a leading technical dealer, REIFF Technische Produkte has reacted to the requirements. The new scanner solution for fast and simple procurement has been in place since the Autumn. Ordering processes are reduced by up to 70%, sources of errors are minimised and procurement costs reduced.

The new REIFF online shop has been online since June. The successes are a clear strategic direction for the electronic procurement. Around 55,000 standard items are available to the customer and just under 80% of the requirements can be processed via the shop.
In order to come even closer to the self-declared objective of making the procurement as convenient as possible for the customer, REIFF is going one step further. A new scanner solution has been installed and launched on the market.

Simple handling – fast processing
The handling is user-friendly and simple. Missing articles in the inventory of the customers are read in using a small hand scanner. Due to the optimum integration in the online shop of REIFF Technische Produkte, all scanned data are transferred directly to the shopping cart within a few seconds. These can now be accessed individually. The order can be changed, corrected and adjusted before it is confirmed and submitted with one click of the mouse.

Holger Mende, Central Sales Manager and responsible for the scanner solution at REIFF confirms: "We have successfully completed the test phase. All test persons confirm simple handling, more efficient processes and a time saving of more than 70% to us".

The previous, usually manual ordering processes are a thing of the past. Notices in the warehouse, filling in forms, recording, approving, initiating order – the potential for sources of error and time-consuming working is particularly large.
The advantages of the new scanner solution are obvious: The small, handheld scanner helps to keep the inventory management clear and simple. The time-consuming compilation of the order items no longer applies and the inventory management becomes more efficient. Order processes can be minimised as regards time. The material planning is absolutely reliable and the low implementation costs are a further benefit which speaks for the new scanner solution.
